As webmaster of PickupLinesGalore.com, I occasionally receive e-mails from people detailing their experiences with pick up lines. Some people share Stories of successful pick ups, while others tell tales of terrible rejections. Sadly, the latter is the more common occurrence. I recently got a particularly sad story from a guy named Arnel in Malaysia. He wrote:

“…I was at a coffee shop after school, and I saw this super cute girl at one of the tables near the back. I walked over to the table beside her and waited until she saw me. I winked at her and smiled, but she pretended like she didn’t see me. So I tried to get her attention with a funny pick up line – I said:

“Hey sweetie. I’m a thief, and I’m here to steal your heart.”

She shook her head and looked away. I knew I had to be more direct and start a conversation with her. So I went to her table and said:

“Is this seat empty?”

She replied with:

“Yes, that seat is empty… but my seat will be empty too if you decide to sit down!”

Then she gave me a wicked glare and said “get a life, loser!”…”

Ouch!

Unfortunately, this is just one of many stories that I’ve heard over the years. If you’re not careful, using pick up lines can get you into trouble! In a new blog-series called “Rejected!”, I’ll post your most embarrassing stories about failed pick-up attempts.
