THEN AND NOW...WHAT HAPPEN

Most of my career was in conventions, meetings, expositions, in either the corporate structure or with non-profits. I cannot understand what has happened that allows Customer Service to be a minimum requirement. If we conducted business like that then, we would not have had one of the largest companies of its nature. We were totally dependent upon providing good customer service to be successful. We would coordinate meetings in excess of 10,000 people at any one time. Can you imagine having all those people not receiving the service they deserve. Of course we had clients with unrealistic expectations, but they were minimal based on the number of attendees. After having spent so many years in that environment I am really sensitive to this issue. It would be really nice if we all were more sensitive to this necessary courtesy.

I think the quality of life has been altered as a result. Our poor children!
