Life is Tough.
From losing a friend and former co-worker to cancer last week, to seeing a beloved book club Girlfriend bury her husband, to hearing that another girlfriend is suffering through depression … LIFE IS TOUGH.
Here on Girlfriendology, we believe our goal is to be the kind of friend we’d love to have … to be there for friends during the tough times, to hug and cry together, to help pick up a friend when they can’t get up themselves. We believe in being the remedy for stress by being there for our friends – the way we’d love for them to be there for us. We want to ease their stress and help them find their happiness.
Life is designed to knock you down. It will knock you down time and time again, but it doesn’t matter how many times you fall – it matters how many times you get back up. Lilly Singh
After this tough week, I found the following video in my Facebook stream.
Can you imagine? Having dealt with cancer and brain tumors twice previously, that renowned ice skater, Scott Hamilton, would have that kind of an attitude at dealing with yet another brain tumor?! It’s inspiring – at least it was to me.
Life has caused all of us to ‘fall’ repeatedly. Losing a job. Losing a partner. Losing a relationship. Not reaching the goals and dreams we have for ourselves. Life is tough.
Thankfully, Scott has his loving wife, wonderful family, and faith needed to get back up.
Next time you fall, or you find out a friend has ‘fallen,’ remember this video. Remember to get back up and to be there to help a friend when she needs to do the same.
