Today I have said Goodbye to a past love. He is an ex but we kept the "benefits" part of our relationship going. I finally was able to say goodbye after learning that he is engaged! Now mind you, I have been seeing him on and off for the past 4 years. Ok, not exclusively, but we were pretty consistant. He neve said a word. He dated me openly and had me over his house. I hate that he put me in this position! It's so tacky and played out in a day and age where people can be open about all types of things without any ramifications. There are lots of women that would still go on and date him knowing that he is engaged, but I am not one of them. He took away my choice in the matter. Of course because he knew I wouldn't play that and he would have to choose.

Now call me crazy, but the reason we broke up was to avoid the arguments and fights. The term "Friends with benefits" is supposed to indicate that you are at least friends right? He owed me the truth. And could have shared it with me at any time over the years. So anyway, it all turned into a big mess, and I just feel emotionally drained. I mean who needs this? I sure don't. I have lots of real friends and family to keep me busy, not to mention a career and two children to look after. I was just sorry that when I really thought he was a good guy, he was really a lieing cheater. He shouldn't have let himself go out like that.
