Post-punk rocker, Adam Ant, to perform 1982 solo album at the Taft Theatre this summer

With hits like “Friend or Foe,” “Desperate But Not Serious,” and “Goody Two Shoes,” one British alternative rocker will be embarking on a national tour this summer/fall to promote his first solo 1982 album.

Adam Ant, from the post-punk band Adam and the Ants, will be promoting his album “Friend or Foe” for the first time since the album was released.

The Grammy award winner will be making his way to the Queen City in September to perform his album in its entirety.

His album was number five in the U.K. and went certified gold selling over 100,000 copies in the Americas and Europe.

Ant’s musical career spans from the 1970s with nine albums , 22 chart-topping singles worldwide, and eight singles in the U.K. Top 40 in one week.

In 1982 “Goody Two Shoes” was number one in the U.K., Australia, and number six on the U.S. Billboard chart.

That same year, the “Friend or Foe” single was another top ten hit in the U.K. while “Desperate But Not Serious” was the album’s third U.K. smash hit.

The album was released a year after Adam and the Ants’ highly commercialized third album, “Prince Charming” was released.

Ant will be performing at the Taft Theater on September 11. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 22 at 11 a.m. They range from $29.50 to $55.50.

Fans can purchase tickets on the Taft Theatre’s website, their box office, Ticketmaster.com. or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
