With freezing rain introducing the season, and snow blocking all the roads – it’s no surprise that everyone’s started mostly staying home for the winter already – but what if you could do something super productive during that time?

Look, I know you read the headline for my blog, the topic is no surprise, so let’s just get right into it – I’m talking about spending the winter months Training for a new career, so you can start the spring off with something totally new.

No, don’t worry – I’m not talking about some school where you have to drive to class every day, that’s madness. In a world constantly connected by the internet, in-person classes don’t really make sense anymore, except for practical instruction – which brings me to my next point.

When you’re done with the online training, then you’ll still need about a week of schooling – but this time, it’s hands-on. Now for this part, you will need to visit their Academy, but here’s the good news, it’s just over in Emerald Park, a few minutes drive away, and the class only lasts a week.

Obviously, for this practical training, there are some time limits – you’ll have to show up every day for a week, but the classes are super fun. You’re not sitting in a room reading off a chalkboard, you’re working hands-on with aesthetic tools and techniques, and performing real procedures, often on real people.

So what will you actually learn?

Well, obviously, they’ll include the boring stuff you need to know, like how each technique works, how to deal with clients, and the legal requirements for running a clinic. There’s also a ton of fun stuff, like how to perform each procedure, and how to get the best results for each client.

You’ll also get certified for about a dozen different procedures – and you can find the full list of those on their website, there’s just too many to type them all out. My favourites, personally, are IPL hair and tattoo removal, or laser skin treatments.
