Multiple Warehouse Breakdown
In this day in age, we need our website to keep up with our specific Warehouse management needs. Without our extension, your company simply cannot grow. Our extension gives you the configuration and boost your site needs to expand globally. Manage the multitude of global warehouses you need with this extension.
Configuration
Customers can easily be assigned to a particular warehouse, where their delivery method is set specifically for them. The delivery method can be specified using the assigned area, nearest area, their assigned store or manual selection.
Below is an example of customer data:
John Doe / Colby / Kansas / 67701 / United States
Table 1 Customer Data:
Warehouses:
- Colorado, Denver 80202 United States
- Kansas, Kansas City 66117 United States
- New York, New York City 10118 United States
- California, Sacramento 95866 United States
Assigned Areas
When this option is enabled, the “Areas” section becomes visible to the user. For example, if the customer’s IP is Kansas City, Kansas, they would use the warehouse located in Shawnee, KS.
Manual Selection
This option allows the user to select the appropriate warehouse. If you were to choose this option, the “Your Warehouse” box would be displayed to the consumer.
Multiple Model Delivery Methods
Say, for example, Sal Johnson from Boulder, CO wants to purchase two items, Product A and Product B. Product A is in the Florida warehouse and Product B is in the Oregon warehouse.
There are different methods of handling this situation:
Lowest Shipping
With this option, the extension checks the prices of each item to be shipped with each warehouse combination to find the overall lowest shipping price.
Warehouse | Item A | Item B |
---|---|---|
Colorado | $1.00 | $1.00 |
Kansas | $1.50 | $1.50 |
Lowest Shipping – Shipping Prices
Items | Item B: $1.00 (Colorado) | Item B: $1.50 (Kansas) |
---|---|---|
Item A: $1.00 (Colorado) | $1.00 + $1.00 = $2.00 | $1.00 + $1.50 = $2.50 |
Item A: $1.50 (Kansas) | $1.50 + $1.00 = $2.50 | $1.50 + $1.50 = $3.00 |
With this example, Sal Johnson would receive Product A and Product B from the Colorado Warehouse.
Lowest Tax
With this option, the multi-warehouse will set warehouses on the lowest tax basis.
Warehouse | Item A | Item B |
---|---|---|
Colorado | $2.00 | $2.00 |
Kansas | $1.00 | $1.00 |
Table 5. Lowest Tax – Taxes
Items | Item B: $2.00 (Colorado) | Item B: $1.00 (Kansas) |
---|---|---|
Item A: $2.00 (Colorado) | $2.00 + $2.00 = $4.00 | $2.00 + $1.00 = $3.00 |
Item A: $1.00 (Kansas) | $1.00 + $2.00 = $3.00 | $1.00 + $1.00 = $2.00 |
In this case, the order will be shipped from Kansas.
Priority
In this instance, the priority is the most important feature. With our extension, you can rank the warehouses based on priority. The company could have a major warehouse in Colorado with three secondary warehouses across the country. If the company wants to focus on the Colorado warehouse, with the three warehouses to follow, the priority would look like this:
- Colorado
- Kansas
- New York
- California
Manual Selection
Customers choose which warehouse they want for each product individually. Split Order
With this option, you can split an order into many orders per warehouse.
Force No Back-orders for Cart
With this option, multi-warehouse doesn’t allow back-ordered products and in-stock items to be in the same shopping cart. Additionally, the customer’s order will be filled only if all the shopping cart items available at a specific warehouse.
Force No Back-orders for Cart Item
This option is very similar to the above option, however it is applied to a particular shopping cart item.
In Conclusion
The Multi-Warehouse Extensions is everything a growing company needs to go global. If your company needs our advanced pricing tools, the Multi-Warehouse PLUS extension would be a great fit.
