GLS 2015: Albert Tate – Leading with Leftovers

The lie about leadership: Give 115%

If we leave it all in the field, we go home with nothing.

Lead and still have something Left. We should not be living for our resumes but for our eulogies.

John 6:1-13

  1. When Jesus asks dumb questions – we wants us to do the math, consider the logic to understand the impossibility so that we can receive the miracle
  2. The power of a dumb idea – leaders leave room in our culture for dumb ideas because we never know when God can use a dumb idea for life transformation and powerfully impact a community
  3. What if Jesus want to do a miracle with what you bring – pack what we have, as insufficient as it is and bring it to Jesus and let Him use it. Discover the wonder of God’s power.

They were full

What would it mean, that at the end of the day, you had something left:

  • for your spouse
  • for your family
  • for your community

The picture of the abundance of God. We are not limited by the power and influence with what we have, but we submit it to the limitless power of God.

Leader, you don’t have to go home on empty.

It’s not about your name…it’s about His name.
