Electricity as always has been Nigeria's major concern, administration after administration has invested billions of dollars in order to improve our watt generation. An investment any Nigerian will tell have had little or no impact. The present administration have put in place over 100 million dollars for investment into the power sector.
Nigeria’s will be commissioning a $146 million 75 mega watt solar power station next year.
This is part of the Solar Power Purchase Agreement, the Federal Government and Pan Africa Solar, signed recently at the office of the Nigeria Bulk Energy Trader, NBET.
The 75MW solar photovoltaic power project will be located in Katsina State, and is expected to sell power for a tariff of 11.5 US cents per kWh.

According to professor and vice President Osibanjo the 75MW solar project will be the largest of its type in Sub Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) and will provide power for 1.1 million Nigerians and will generate
500 jobs for local Nigerian during the 12 month construction period, about 40,000 new jobs will be created from the additional economic activity stimulated by the power plant all these were said on behalf of the VP by Mr's Lolade Abiola of the Sector Lead Solar and Access Advisory power Team.
