Well it has happened, Paul Ryan confirmed he is a spineless coward who could not stand firm against a bloviating bigoted bully masking as a #Republican Hack.
Paul Ryan sent out this tweet today:

There are several reasons that this endorsement is more than problematic for Paul Ryan. First, he stated, repeatedly that he was not there yet, there are things he wishes to see before he could endorse him. Remember? Since that time, #Donald Trump has insulted the Latina Republican Governor from New Mexico (Susana Martinez); He has ridiculed his former GOP rivals; he has insulted a Federal Judge in his Trump University case, not just for what he thinks is bias conduct, but also for being Mexican; He was combative with the press because they asked him for accountability for the money he stated publicly, multiple times, that he raised for the vets. The big doozy was the Trump University “fraud“, “scam”, “con”, where it was shown that Trump targeted the most vulnerable to manipulate them into depleting their life savings to enter his very fraudulent “University”.
If you recall, Speaker (soon to be former Speaker) was the running mate of Mitt Romney who lost miserably to #President Obama. Mitt Romney has been vocal about his disdain for Donald Trump in a blistering speech denigrating Donald Trump and everything he stands for. Donald Trump has been mercilessly attacking Mitt Romney and Mitt has been bombarded with a Tsunami of attacks by the Trumpions! The reality of loyalty did not sink in for Paul Ryan.
Donald Trump has shown, repeatedly, that he lacks the temperament, intellectual fortitude and impulse control to ever be President of the United States. Further, he has insulted, multiple times, majority of this country from women, Hispanics, Muslims, GOP, Media, Politicians, and anyone that has ever opposed him. He has been totally devoid of humility and may be the single biggest narcissist to run for President. He is combative and abusive. He is utterly inept and void of any substance. He has made a mockery of the political process and a mockery of our great country. He has insulted our allies and taken advantage of our most vulnerable. Despite this, third in line to the President, the Speaker of the House, the GOP guy, has endorsed ALL of that. Essentially, by Paul Ryan endorsing Trump he has confirmed that the GOP is filled with intellectually challenged individuals, who are combative, bigoted, sexist, disingenuous, spineless cowards. He’s confirmed the GOP have no principles and are comfortable being reckless and ignorant.
I was starting to gain respect for Paul Ryan. While I disagree with his ideology, I respected his “principled” mentality. However, what I have never been fond of is a spineless coward. Paul Ryan is a spineless coward; therefore, that little respect I had for him has evaporated so fast. The GOP is doomed – DONE, FINITO! Trump has and will continue to drag them all into the sewer together.
