First let me say, Ted Rafael Cruz is a scary dude! Now that this is out of the way, let me get into the topic of this article. On Thursday March 24, 2016 something unbelievable happened. A news story, released by the National Enquirer, on March 23, 2016 reported: 

PERVY TED CRUZ CAUGHT CHEATING – WITH FIVE MISTRESSES

Once the twittersphere saw the story, Twitter broke the Internet through the hashtag #CruzSexScandal. With hundreds of thousands of Tweets. Majority of those tweets were rebukes of Ted in light of these allegations. However, what was apparent was that Ted supporters were eerily silent about the scandal. An attempt to make a later tweet saying #Donald… Gained very low traction and virtually fell off the trend list. Contrarily, the Cruz tweets completely dominated Twitter. 

It’s perplexing, at first, when you see the voluminous amount of tweets referencing the scandal. I mean come on, Politicians don’t only cheat their constituents, they cheat on their spouses. Just ask John Edwards, Bill Clinton, and Alabama Governor… Therefore, to hear a politician cheated on his wife is not a new concept. However, when your entire public persona relies on the fact that you claim to be a God fearing, holier than though, bible toting, defender of the faith, and you are later discovered to be an utterly embarrassing fraud it can be life altering. While we are uncertain whether these allegations are founded, we can say that if they are true then Ted Cruz is toast!

Twitter has continued to tweet the hashtag #CruzSexScandal that must have amassed over 1 million tweets. Simply having Twitter say Ted is a sex pervert does not automatically equate to facts without some independently credible source confirming the allegations. However, just because an independent, reliable source hasn’t confirmed it, that does not mean the damage is already done. Regardless of the validity of the story, the damage is done. People have confirmed in their minds that the story is legitimate and no deference should be given to Teddy. 

Whether the story remains in the public consciousness remains to be seen; however, it is hard to see Teddy recovering from it. It is hard to imagine that he politically survives these attacks because they are so salacious that most people cannot shy away from wondering, “what if it is true?”. If I were a betting person, which I am not, I would say that Teddy is likely done this election season and maybe his entire political career. If he is done all I can say is good riddance and Hasta Luego. You will not be missed!
