2016 Oscar: Leonardo finally gets Best Actor while Mad Max: Fury Road sweeps 6 awards

88 Oscar Award, 2016 was singular for many reasons for both US and India. The Award was hosted by Chris Rock who kicked off the ceremony with a sharp monologue about #OscarsSoWhite. He said, “…Black people did not protest [at previous awards shows]. Why? Because we had real things to protest at the time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won best cinematographer.”

It was also special for Leonardo Di Caprio who finally managed to bag much elusive Award for Best Actor, after slipping from his fingers for 5 times. India also enjoyed its few moments of glory as Ms Priyanka Chopra strutted on the Red Carpet in white Zuhair Murad strapless gown. She along with, Hollywood star Liev Schreiber, gave away the Award to Margaret Sixel.
