Sagar Mala project is the initiative the Central government has taken to develop the coastal and port cities in India. Though India has a long coastal line, the ports are not developed since Independence. Sagar Mala project is to develop and modernize the ports in India and make them world class ports. Atal Bihari Vajpayee dreamt about this project and it’s launch and implementation is in the hands of Narendra Modi.
All is well and Government of India, the shipping ministry launched the Sagar Mala project, but what is wrong with NDTV? The media company Ndtv launched a campaign against this project to save the coast line of India. From what? Development? Jobs? or fight against Modi?
This project could very well become a jewel in NDA crown and the achievement could be a success story for next elections for BJP. NDTV fights against Modi even if it is fight against India? and Development? What is the goal of NDTV?
When did NDTV became the expert in environment? People know it is famous to fight against Modi. But are they going to fight against India?
NDTV filed a petition before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) against the Sagarmala Project. NDTV in its petition has asked for
- stopping of work on all new ports as an interim measure
- civil & criminal action be taken against authorities, governments & private companies
- formulation of a national coastal policy
- creation of a restoration fund &
- cumulative environmental, economic & social impact assessment
Is NDTV assuming that project taken up by the central government with the partnership of state governments & private companies did not study the impact on environment? Every project is always analyzed by independent experts to check the impact on the environment prior to make a decision. Before filing the petition, NDTV should have done more research and submit their findings.
India has a wonderful coastline of 7,500 km long, 14,500 km of potentially navigable waterways & strategic location on key international maritime trade routes. This potential has not been tapped until now. This is huge for Indian economy and people of India as it is estimated that 1 crore new jobs will be created out of which 40 lakh will be in direct employment.
What is important to remember is that projects undertaken by the government in partnership with state governments & private entities are not implemented without detailed study. Independent experts are appointed to study environmental impact of projects & their feasibility.
NDTV doesn’t care about the environment and never cared. They never held a campaign towards the protection of environment earlier. This is only to create hurdles in the development agenda and India growth. If more jobs are created, Narendra Modi will have a sure chance of winning next elections in 2019.
People have been watching NDTV on what it truly is, for the past two years. This anti-national media house will do anything to destroy the reputation of not only Narendra Modi but even our army. The lies, the distorted news and the anti-national stand on every issue, is not just termed as going against Narendra Modi, but it is going against India.
