I know the instinct might, despite the late Comeback, still be to be pessimistic and downhearted about Arsenal’s draw at Chelsea, but I am here to tell you that it most certainly is not. That point could prove to be incredibly important.

While the expectation before every single game is that a win should be coming, especially during a title race. The reality however is different, there are going to be off days and matches which sadly - despite all the expectations - the Gunners simply do not produce the free-flowing and dynamic football we know we can.

Today was that day. Two weeks ago, Manchester City had one of those days and do you know what the difference is between the two clubs challenging for the league’s top honour? Arsenal didn’t lose and Manchester City did.

There will be inquiries into why what happened against Chelsea did happen, but in the immediate aftermath I think that it was ultimately a day in which if something could go wrong, it did go wrong. Yet still the side didn’t allow their heads to drop and they battled back to score two goals and were so close to a third through Eddie Nketiah’s strike.

The penalty… William Saliba sees his very natural body position for a leaping header punished by the continuing ludicrously of what is the refereeing rule book for matches. Unquestionable and untouchable the officials continue to be and Mikel Arteta admitted post-match he was booked for just asking about the spot kick decision.

Yet, we move on. The second goal might be the biggest fluke of the season and should it show up in October’s goal of the month awards I for one will be rolling my eyes.

Despite the criticism of David Raya of late, the one thing we have praised the Spaniard for has been how he has collected crosses and his presence in the box. Yet on Saturday that somehow was his undoing.

The international break we thought came at the perfect time. Arteta revealed in his pre-match press conference that the team had their first full training session on Friday and it showed.

Had this game not come at this time I am sure the performance would have been better. Despite that, our £100million plus man Declan Rice came to the occasion and kicked off the comeback to sink Blues hearts.

The hope had been Thomas Partey would be ready to start with him and perhaps things would have gone differently as Jorginho looked frustratingly slow and out of depth at times. Maybe in midweek, it will be different?

Ensuring we remained unbeaten was pivotal to confidence and belief. The feeling that you cannot be beaten is incredibly powerful and the impact that this result and the end-of-game display will have on the side I can guarantee will be significant.

I look forward to the next game, and I hope for better. But something tells me that it almost certainly will be and this will be certainly seen as one point gained over two points dropped.
