[ WATCH TV LIVE ]

Eden Hazard's brother, Thorgan, has confirmed that the former Chelsea star will not pursue a career in the dugout following his retirement from professional football. The 32-year-old was left without a club this season after Real Madrid terminated his contract a year ahead of a schedule.

Despite reportedly receiving six contract offers since leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, Hazard decided to hang up his boots. In a statement on his official Instagram account, the Blues legend paid tribute to the 'great managers, coaches and teammates' he worked with during his career.

"You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time," wrote Hazard. "After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.

"I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world. During my career I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and teammates - thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.

"I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea and Real Madrid; and thank the RBFA for my Belgian Selection. A special thank you to my family, my friends, my advisors and the people who have been close to me in good times and bad.

"Finally, a huge thank you to you, my fans, who have followed me for all these years and for your encouragement everywhere I have played. Now is the time to enjoy my loved ones and have new experiences. See you off the field soon my friends."

While Hazard remained coy on his next steps after retiring, many believed that the final sentence in his statement hinted at a potential coaching or management role in the future. However, his Brother Thorgan, who currently plays for Anderlecht, has no confirmed that Eden will not pursue a career in the dugout.

As quoted by a recent print edition of the Mirror, Thorgan said: "He is mentally and physically not capable of doing that. And we won’t see him in the dugout as a manager, either. He just wants to spend time with his family."
