Phillip Schofield has been mocked by the Glastonbury Festival crowd as he stayed away from Worthy Farm, while former This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby has been living it up at the six-day musical jamboree.

With Schofield trying to keep a low profile in Cornwall following his dramatic exit from both This Morning and ITV a few weeks ago, some members of the Glastonbury throng certainly had him in their thoughts as they flew banners and flags that had brutal messages for and about the 61-year-old.

One of the banners catching everyone’s attention in Somerset shows a screenshot of a newspaper report about Willoughby’s former co-star, with Schofield shown Vaping on his beloved Lost Mary vape.

The caption underneath the snap of downcast Schofield reads: “Phillip Schofield says he’s vaping so much his hands are blistered.”

During a recent interview with The Sun, the presenter presented a collection of “blisters and calluses” as he admitted: “I’ve been vaping, a lot.

“I didn’t realise until suddenly it hurt, but I’ve been sitting looking up at the sky or out of the window, just staring into space.

“I just sit on the sofa and stare. I realise by doing that, I’ve blistered both hands.”

Schofield was pictured looking “very tired” while out shopping in the West Country – on this occasion he wasn’t vaping – while on the same day, Willoughby flew by helicopter to the Festival and has been spied enjoying herself in the VIP section.

While in there she joined a long queue for the bar, rather than attempting to skip that bit and jump to the front, before giving up and going without.

Schofield’s vaping woes were revealed earlier this month when the presenter gave a series of interviews following his ITV departure and he admitted he was in a “bad way” after sharing the truth after lying to his family, colleagues and his agent for years about what was really going on with a younger ITV runner.

Following his This Morning exit at the end of May, Schofield went on to part ways completely with ITV after admitting to an “unwise” but “not illegal” affair with a man he met when he was a teenager.

In an additional interview with the BBC, Schofield added: “I would say to everyone, I would say to my family, my friends, my work colleagues, the public, to ITV, to my management company, to everyone that I’d like to, I am desperately, desperately sorry.

“But principally, I would like to apologise to him because it may have been consensual, it may have been fully legal, but I shouldn’t have allowed it to happen, and that was a grave grey error on my part.

“And I know that because of that, an absolutely innocent person is being persecuted.”
