Fleur will be taking over from former host Rylan Clark who stepped down from the role earlier this year.
Speaking to Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, Fleur expressed: "It is a lot to take in. I was, I couldn't believe it and I still can't believe it in some ways.
"I was with my husband and we were away and I got a call from my agent and I thought 'Why am I getting a call now? Like I am away this is weird, this is fishy'.
"And she started doing all the pleasantries and then moments later she was like 'You have got It Takes Two'.
"And I could not believe it. I had no clue, no chat, nothing. I was walking around trying to forget about it it, thats the thing, I was tyring to get it out of my head.

"But the funniest thing was the social video, I was like 'I need to get the biggest boots I can find to not give any clue'.
"But I have some big boots to fill, I thought it was symbolic and it made sense."
Speaking to the BBC on her official appointment as new host, Fleur said: "I’m so excited to officially join the Strictly family!
"I had such an amazing time on the show last year and so cannot wait to be talking to the celebs each week on It Takes Two.
"Being a Strictly fan, I’m excited to get all the behind-the-scenes exclusives on the show. I know exactly what the next lot of celebs will be going through.
"It’s an incredibly fun experience, but it’s tough! Hopefully, I can offer them a bit of support and a friendly face along the way.
"I’m so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started!" leaving Fleur to join Janette for her debut on the first episode of the series.
Viewers of Strictly took to their Twitter account to express their love for Fleur, with user @Tari_Helyanwe commenting: "Brilliant choice. Excellent. I’ll be very excited for ITT every night this year."
Jennifer Canesten agreed: "Love Fleur. Great choice."
