FEAR FACTORY played their fifth concert with a new singer Milo Silvestro and tour drummer Pete Webber Saturday night (March 4) at the Virginia Street Brewery in Reno, Nevada, as part of “Rise of the Machine” opening tour STATIC-X. A fan video of the performance can be viewed below.

Italian Silvestro recently joined FEAR FACTORY as a replacement for the band’s original vocalist Burton S. Bell.

Webber fills in for FEAR FACTORYlongtime drummer Mike Heller who is unable to travel due to “scheduling conflicts”.

FEAR FACTORYThe set list for the Reno concert was as follows:

01. Shock02. edge crusher03. Destroyer04. Dielectric05. Powershifter06. What will become?07. archetype08. Retirement09. Zero signal10. Replica

The 42-day tour of North America also includes DRUG and select dates from MUSHROOM HAT And TVIZTED.

In a recent interview with Revolver before the start of the tour, Silvestro was asked if he was nervous about going on stage as a singer FEAR FACTORY. He replied, “Yes, a little, but I always thought being nervous was part of the game. My dad always told me that the moment you’re not afraid to go on stage, you better quit music. be a really emotional thing, emotional [moment in] Your life. Also, the fact that this is my very first tour experience, my very first FEAR FACTORY experience, my first great [musical] experience in general, of course, which makes me a little nervous. But the good thing is that dino [Cazares, FEAR FACTORY guitarist] and also fans, fortunately, make me very comfortable. I want to thank them because they were amazing. You are always afraid of hate, negative comments and other things that I started to see because my name was leaked even earlier. [I got the job] because of [vocal] lids [I put on YouTube]. People were like, “Oh, this guy is really good, so maybe that’s him.” Some haters started showing up, “Oh, he’s fucking trash.” At first I was a little scared – and, of course, Dino prepared me for a long time. ‘Be ready. For better or worse, it’s going to be a shit storm.” But fortunately, [when] ad came out [the reaction] was 99.9% positive. The negative comments were mainly about [how] this group without [the] the previous singer FEAR FACTORY more. They just need to change their name, blah, blah, blah. Maybe one or two guys said, “I don’t like him. He sucks. But nothing big enough to blow my mind or make me insecure. I was very happy to see literally thousands of people – either my friends, or people I know from Italy, or complete strangers. FEAR FACTORY fans say, “Welcome to the family, man.” It was a truly amazing love shower. I’m so grateful and so humbled for that.”

Asked how he plans to win over these skeptical fans, Milo said: “I understand that some people are skeptical because as a music fan, as a metalhead and as a music fan in general, I know that metal fans are so dedicated, so crazy about their music, which is good. It’s almost like a religion. When your favorite band changes singer, guitarist or whatever, you might feel a little sad about it. It can be difficult to move on. I had favorite bands that either changed singers or drummers. Maybe I was so attached to the style of this musician and then it was difficult for me to move on, but then when I was in this position of a real guy who replaces the previous one, now I understand even more that, yes, sometimes it can be hard for a fan, but it’s something you either get over or don’t care about the band anymore.

“What do I want to say [the doubters] I know you’re skeptical and understandably so because FEAR FACTORY the vocal legacy is so iconic. The vocals were so recognizable and iconic that it was like a replacement James Hatfield V METALLIC. I mean, it’s okay to be a skeptic, but we’ll try to get it right. … For the past three years, I’ve been working hard on my vocal style to make sure that even the smallest nuances [are accounted for]How [Bell] said certain things, how he went from one note to another, how he said certain words that were shouted out. Also, in terms of vocal effects, we make sure that everything sounds exactly the same as on the record. I brought in a bunch of effects that I’m a bit of a fan of because I also run the studio. I like touching things up, so I brought them a bunch of crap. dino, at first thought: “What the hell is this?”, But then he said: “Good.” I thought, “What if we recreate some of the vocal effects on the record, the beautiful delays that are part of the vocal heritage?” Songs like “Biasing resistor”, the beautiful chorus got a lot of deeper delay. This is part of the vocal sound. This is also what does FEAR FACTORYsignature sound.

Earlier this month Casares said “The Jast Show” on finding a female vocalist for the band: “Many women came forward. And there were definitely a few women in the top five that I almost picked. But it took me a long process to find one. I was touring with SOUL [as a session guitarist] from around the end of 2021 until recently. And in the process I was looking for singers and I was very meticulous because I know how important it is for FEAR FACTORY fans that I choose the right guy. And I believe and I know that I got the right dude. So I’m very happy [about] What.”

Casares went on to say that he “definitely” believes that “guys [who] were in other bands”, but he thought “there would be a lot of scheduling conflicts if the guy was in a different band and then we wouldn’t be able to tour as much. That someone wanted us to do something like Milwaukee Metal FestI wouldn’t be able to do it because the singer has another performance somewhere else”, Casares explained. “So I wanted a guy who just got off the ship, a guy from a new school. I like discovering new talents. There are a lot of talented people out there and they just never get the chance. guy shot, or unknown shot.”

dino previously said RichardMetalFan that he was not “afraid” to replace someone like Bell. “I’ve been there before,” he said. “I’m ready to move on. I’m looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be fucking awesome. It’s going to be killer. I’m going to put out some more heavy shit. My vocalist is amazing. He’s younger, around 30. I think he’s on the peak of his vocals. He’s here and ready to go.”

In September 2020 Bell made an official announcement of his resignation from FEAR FACTORYsaying that he “can’t team up” with someone he doesn’t trust or respect.

FEAR FACTORYlatest album, “Continuum of Aggression”was released in June 2021 through Nuclear explosion reports. The LP, which was recorded primarily in 2017, features Casares And Bell near Heller.
