US Horse Racing Association | Winners from four different states star in the Summit Spring Nationals finals

Rodney Schweitzer won the USRA Stock Car Medieval Main Event during the 13th Annual Texas Spring Nationals Summit at Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas on Sunday, March 5, 2023.

The 13th Annual Summit of the Spring Nationals concluded with a fast-paced doubleheader Sunday night at Rocket Raceway Park, with riders from four different states taking victories in four race classes in support of the USMTS Modified headliners.

Three divisions of the Summit Usra Weekly Racing Series battled Medieval USRA Stock Cars in which Rodney Schweitzer of Kansas City, Kansas took home a $500 win, followed by Brandon Rowland, Saturday’s winner Colin Deming, Dakota Folsom and Michael Risks.

Talan Willis of Elizabeth, Louisiana raced from sixth on the grid to first at the finish line in the USRA Limited Mod to collect the $600 winner’s salary. The previous night’s winner, Tyler Johnson, had to settle for second that night as Colby Mewbourne, Travis Johnson and Tyler Potter rounded out the top five.

Talan Willis won the USRA Limited Mod main event.

Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks showed off a fast field, with Justin Whitehead of Texarkana, Texas outpacing Sonny Schoffen, Jeff Hammitt, Rodney White, and Kyle Blanton for $500 in first place.

Meanwhile, J&G Services Eco-Mods saw a single repeat weekend winner when Achill, Oklahoma’s Trent Gibby took home a $300 win. Colton Keel, who started eleventh, Drew Pattat, Kylar Smith and Carson Bradley rounded out the top five.

The official season opener for the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series and Rocket Challenge is this Saturday, March 11 with WWJ Surveying & Mapping USRA Modifieds, Stealth Thru Tubing USRA Stock Cars, Coston & Son Ready Mix USRA Limited Mods, By-Line Surveying USRA Factory Stocks, J&G Services Eco-Mods and Bravado Wireless Junior Limited Mods to keep you entertained on the track.
