Reno man convicted of animal cruelty after hitting dog repeatedly

A Nevada jury found a 29-year-old man guilty of Animal cruelty after repeatedly hitting his dog.

Dennis Mark Glenn was initially charged with one count of maliciously torturing, mutilating, or killing a dog, cat, or pet. However, the jury ultimately found Glenn guilty of Animal Cruelty. Now he faces up to six months in prison, the verdict will be handed down on March 30, according to KOLO.

Glenn was first arrested by Reno police in April 2022 when officers were called to the scene of an ongoing fight. When they arrived, they saw Glenn beating his 2-year-old pit bull and learned that a fight had started when passers-by saw the violence.

Heartbreaking surveillance footage shows Glenn hitting the dog multiple times before eventually picking it up and throwing it onto the pavement, where he hit the animal again multiple times. The animal was reportedly not aggressive and was seen cowering and trying to escape.

While we cannot change the horrendous treatment that many animals have already suffered in the past, we have the ability to give animals a voice and hold perpetrators accountable for crimes in the present and future. Many animal abusers are not held accountable under the law, which fuels this horrific cycle of abuse. You can sign this petition demanding that all states make animal cruelty a crime.
