Fayetteville and Rogers girls earn wins; Springdale inflicts the third defeat in a row against Bentonville

GIRLS

FAYETTEVILLE 59, BENTONVILLE WEST 41

Freshman Charlie Rawlins made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points in Fayetteville’s win over Bentonville West.

Mayesha Washington also scored 14 points with Winter Beck 12 for Fayetteville and Mackenzie Anderson 12 to Lead Bentonville West.

Rawlins made two 3-pointers to help Fayetteville (13-13, 6-7) take a 23-9 lead in the second Quarter. West (9-18, 2-12) responded with six straight points before Rawlins added two more threes in the third quarter as Fayetteville extended his lead to 52-24.

ROGERS 61, SS SOUTH SIDE 38

Aubrey Treadwell and Brooklyn Owens combined 46 of Rodgers’ 61 points to win the Lady Mounties in the 6A-West conference.

Owens scored 15 points in the first half to help Rodgers take a 26-15 lead at halftime. Treadwell hit four three-pointers in the third quarter as the Lady Mountains (11–15, 6–7) took a 21-point lead.

Owens finished with a game-high 25 points and Treadwell added 21. Tinsley Freeman led the Southside (6–21, 1–13) with 16 points.

BOYS

Springdale 72, Bentonville 65

Isaiah Seeley and Carson Tangness scored 43 points as Springdale beat Bentonville 19-7 in the third quarter to defeat the Falling Tigers at Tiger Arena.

Seeley scored nine of his 24 points in the third quarter and Tangness added eight more as Springdale (20-7, 9-4) turned a 27-27 halftime stalemate into a 46-34 lead. The Bulldogs then took the win at the free throw line, where they scored 15 of 19 in the last 8 minutes.

Tangness finished 19th for Springdale, who now hold sole third place in the 6A-West standings and host Fayetteville in the league on Friday. Jaylen Lee finished with 28 points, including 20 in the fourth quarter, for Bentonville (19-7, 9-5), who suffered their third consecutive loss.

Fort Smith Northside 63, Rogers Heritage 52

After needing a few clutch points against Rogers Heritage earlier this month, Northside looked a bit easier this time around.

The Grizzlies, who have won two of their last three games, have had a balanced night on offense. De’Marion Savoy (20 points), Denarion Whitmore (14 points) and Marco Smith (13 points) were in the lead.

Legacy (6-20, 2-11 6A-West) led with Ben Manuel’s game-high 31 points.

After the quarter, Northside (17-10, 7-7) had a 15-7 lead and then a 30-17 lead at half-time. The Legacy edged out their rival 19–10 in the third quarter and lost just 40–36 at the start of the final quarter.

Then in the fourth quarter, Northside found their attacking move again, scoring a game-high 23 points per frame to help secure the win.

In that previous match 10 days ago, Northside pulled away away to win 62-61. The Grizzlies used Savoy’s free throw with just 12.7 seconds left to take the lead.

CONFERENCE TOURNAMENTS

BOYS

Haas Hall-Bentonville 52, Kotter 45

Andrew Hubbard scored 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to lead Haas Hall-Bentonville to a second win in as many days during the 2A-1 Conference tournament in Eureka Springs.

The Huskies, who finished fifth at the start of the tournament, were leading 16-5 in the closing minutes to close a four-point gap to earn a Class 2A West Regional spot next week at Hector.

Amin Riyans also scored 22 points for Haas Hall-Bentonville.

Gravett 58, Gentry 37

Gravett limited Gentry to just 12 points in the second half and pulled away with a win in the first round of the 4A-1 Conference tournament at Berryville.

The Lions (17–12) led 28–25 at halftime before beating the Pioneers 12–5 in the third quarter and starting to break away. Gravett then finished the game 18–7.

Gunnar Woolard scored 23 points for Gravett, who will play fourth place Prairie Grove at 17:30 today in the quarter-final game.

GIRLS

Pea Ridge 47, Shiloh Christian 43

Leah Telgemier scored 17 of her 20 points in the first half as P Ridge held on to defeat Shiloh Christian to open the 4A-1 Conference Tournament at Bobcat Arena in Berryville.

Telgemeier helped the Lady Blackhawks (15–15) take a 16–10 lead and extend it to 31–18 at halftime. The Lady Saints, however, kept everything to their hearts and closed the third quarter 40-32.

Telgemeier was the only double-digit player on the fifth-seeded P Ridge team, which will play fourth-seeded Prairie Grove in today’s quarter-finals. Avery Beers edged out Shiloh Christian by 10 points.

Mount Ozark 63, Greenland 41

Ozark Mountain beat Greenland 39-19 in the second half to take the lead with a quarter-final victory during the 2A-1 Conference tournament in Eureka Springs.

The Lady Bears had a narrow halftime lead of 24–22, but went on a 18–9 streak in the third quarter to a double-digit lead. Ozark Mountain then beat Greenland 21–10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Chloe Middleton led the Lady Bears with 26 points, followed by Jaylene Jackson with 14. Dixie Moulton led Greenland with eight points.

Monday Games

Conference Tournament 3A-1

BOYS

Lincoln 75, Green Forest 62

Lincoln posted five players in double figures and advanced in the 3A-1 conference tournament with a first-round victory over Green Forest.

Jace Birkes had 18 points to lead the Wolves (11-17), who took a 19-9 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 38-26 at halftime and 56-40 after three quarters.

Kayden Job added 15 points to Lincoln, who won after a poor regular season conference game, followed by Bryson Karber with 11 points, and Paxton Price and Andrew Moore each with 10 points. Zachary Watson had 17 points for Green Forest (9-18), while Ali Cabrera, Anthony Gonzalez and Hesten Maeby added 10 points each.

GIRLS

Lincoln 69, West Fork 47

Lincoln dominated the second and third quarters and beat West Fork in first round play.

The Lady Wolves (9-20) outscored the Lady Tigers (5-21) 25-13 in the second quarter and turned a five-point gap into a 38-31 halftime lead. Lincoln continued to come off 14-4 in the third quarter.

Sarah Snodgrass had 18 and Lily Richerd had 12 Lincoln points. Mary Jane Lovett led the West Fork with 13 points followed by Abigail Rochelle with 10 points.
