Regional Basketball Tournament Grids Revealed

On February 2, the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) announced the tables for next week’s regional basketball tournaments.

Charles Henderson Lady Trojans will host Greenville in the Class 5A, Area 4 semi-finals on February 6th at 17:00. The winners will travel to the Ozarks to take on Carroll in the Area 4 Championship on February 8 at 6:00 pm. Charles Henderson, the boys’ team said goodbye to the No. 1 seed and will host the regional championship on February 9 at 18:00. Carroll and Greenville will meet in the Ozarks in the semi-finals on February 7 at 6:00 pm.

In Class 3A, the Pike County Lady Bulldogs will host an Area 4 tournament. PCHS will face Daleville in the semi-finals on Feb. 6 at 7:00 pm, with New Brockton fielding Opp at 5:30 pm. The winners of these games will meet at the Area 4 championship on February 9 at 18:00. New Brockton at 5:30 pm Feb. 7 at Oppa High School. Opp and Daleville will face off in another semi-final game at 7:00 pm, and the two winners will face off at Opp High on February 10 at 6:00 pm.

Class 2A at 17:30 on February 6 at 17:30 on February 6 at the Sion Chapel Lady Rebels will host the first round of the Area 4 Tournament dedicated to Pike Liberal Arts. The winner of this game will play Luverne at Luverne High School in the semi-finals on February 8 at 7:00 pm. The Goshen Lady Eagles will play Highland Home in another semi-final match at Luverne High School on February 8 at 5:00 pm. The championship will take place in February. 10 at 6 p.m. at Luvern High.

As for the boys, Goshen will host Pike Liberal Arts on February 7 at 5:30 pm in the first round. The winner travels to Highland Home at 7:00 pm on February 9 for the semi-finals. In another semi-final match – also at HHHS – Zion Chapel will face Luverne at 17:30 on February 9th. The championship game will take place at 18:00 on February 11 at Highland Home.

Both the winner and runner-up of each regional tournament will advance to the sub-regional round of the state tournament later this month.
