KENNETT, MO (KAIT) — Kenneth, 26, is behind bars after police discovered she had a sexual Relationship with a Student at her workplace.

Candace Elizabeth Johnson was arrested on Wednesday, February 1 and faces two counts of second-degree rape and two counts of sexual contact with a student.

According to the affidavit, on Monday, January 30, the Kennett Police Department received information that Johnson, a nurse at Kennett High School, had a relationship with a student.

The officers spoke to the victim, who said the relationship had been going on since October 2022. They explained that they had 12 sexual encounters with Johnson and exchanged explicit photos.

According to police, the victim added that several meetings took place at Johnson’s office.

The affidavit explained that the victim did not formally admit to the relationship when questioned by the director and his assistant because “he didn’t want to get Johnson into any trouble.”

On February 1, the officer spoke to the victim’s mother, who said the victim told her that she and Johnson talked about “a future together” and hung out with each other.

Johnson was placed on bail of $40,000 and required not to come into contact with children under the age of 17.
