A woman says she caught a man touching himself inappropriately in a San Antonio park.

SAN ANTONIO What should have been a fun and relaxing afternoon at McAllister Park took an unsettling turn for Marissa Rijos and her partner.

Rijos regularly records dance videos, and on Wednesday, January 17, her video captured a lot more than she wanted to see.

“To the ground like his pants to the ground. I feel like this is just the next level,” said Marissa Rijos.

The man appeared to be touching himself inappropriately just a few benches behind Rijos. She said she thought he might have been looking at her when they first got there, but figured she was just being paranoid.

When she saw what was captured on her video, her fears were confirmed.

“At that moment, I thought how close he is to me, is he going to grab me? Is he going to touch my partner? Rijos said.

The video shows the man pulling up his pants and then walking away. On the same day, she contacted the San Antonio police and gave a description, but the police could not find him.

“To be so comfortable, like, what else do you do and how often? And you’re still doing it,” Rijos said.

Rijos took to social media to warn others about what happened to her. As the video gained popularity, what she saw in the comments also raised concerns.

“Maybe 350 or 400 comments and at least around… I don’t want to say too much, but at least 15 to 20, which is how McAllister Park is known for it,” Rijos said.

She tells us that this is a wake-up call that not all people are good. Rijos said she felt awkward at times, constantly looking over her shoulder. Now she does not leave the house without the opportunity to protect herself.

“He’s got a little dagger on this side and a pepper spray right here. I’m like, try me. I am now protected. You won’t take me by surprise anymore,” Rijos said.

The San Antonio Police Department tells us that they patrol McAllister Park several times a day, sometimes even conducting undercover operations to catch lewd acts or acts of indecent exposure. They ask anyone who sees something to say something.

As for Rijos, she has a message for others.

“Become aware of your surroundings. Get ready to take action. Be fearless in protecting yourself. Don’t neglect your intuition, Rijos said.
