Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) says FBI Director James Comey, who is a Republican, deliberately withheld information that Russia was interfering in the U.S. elections.

During an interview on MSNBC’s A.M. Joy, Reid called for Comey to be investigated and forced to resign for deliberately throwing the election to Donald Trump with the letter about Clinton’s email investigation and covering up Russian interference. Reid blasted Comey as the new J. Edgar Hoover.

This comes after the Washington Post released a bombshell article that a secret CIA assessment found that the Russians intervened in the elections to help Donald Trump win. The article also accuses Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of ignoring the findings.

Reid sent a letter to Comey about Russia. He said he thought Comey would do the right thing by America. He added; that the FBI had this information for a long time. He violated the orders of the president, attorney general and good taste. Reid says “Wikileaks was involved from the very beginning.”

Reid says James Comey should be investigated by the Senate and other government agencies, including security agencies, because his actions are stunning. “If there were ever a matter of security, it is this. It is stunning the conclusions reached by the press. This is not fake news,” Reid said.

Sen. Reid accused Comey of engaging in a cover-up of Russian intervention and that he is very partisan.

He slammed Russia as having a record of cheating, pointing to the doping scandal in the Olympics. He praised President Obama for launching an investigation, adding, there is a reason why he didn’t ask the FBI to do it.

I don’t understand why Harry Reid is the only Democrat leading the charge on this. The rest of them seem to be hiding under a desk. I must also add that President Obama dropped the ball when he failed to act before now. He should have hit out, especially after Comey tipped the scales for Donald Trump by blindsiding the Clinton campaign with a last minute investigation of the emails found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop.

Reid’s top aide Adam Jentleson blasted the New York Times for publishing a story downplaying Russia’s meddling in the election. He tweeted a link to an Oct. 31 NY Times article. He added, “I’ll say it: NYT interviewed Reid for this story. He said things contrary to the story. NYT discarded the interview.”

“Maybe some want to know why the NYT seemed to cover for Comey’s FBI? Maybe even some at the NYT? Maybe not? I’m just asking questions,” Jentleson added in a second tweet.
