Pro-Clinton super PAC Priorities USA hit Donald Trump in a new television ad by contrasting him to Ronald Reagan by portraying him as an inciter of violence. The ad, Then and Now, “opens with a voiceover from Reagan as his name is displayed across the screen over black and white images. First up: what appears to be a father and son on a farm, followed by older black and white women embracing, and then by a veteran with a small girl.”
The ad, Then and Now, will air in Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
This comes as the Democratic Coalition Against Trump requested that “criminal charges be filed against Trump and his campaign for inciting a riot and disorderly conduct, under the North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 14 Article 36A.” The complaint was filed after a Trump supporter was seen on video assaulting a male and female protester at his rally in Asheville, NC, on Monday. The man was not removed from the venue. “After the assault, Donald Trump asked “is there any place more fun to be than a Trump rally,” and gave the “thumbs-up” signal, while his supporters sang “hey hey hey goodbye,” the DCAT’s news release said.
Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton of running a “hate-filled campaign,” after she said half of his supporters were in the “basket of deplorables.” Never mind the fact that Donald Trump is the one who has repeated denigrated just about everyone and every incident was caught on video.
