AFCON 2023 runners-up Nigeria’s Super Eagles suffered a shocking 2-0 loss to the Eagles Mali on Tuesday night in its second international friendly match played in Marrakech, Morocco.

It was a reality check for Finidi George, as it was his first loss as interim coach of the three-time AFC ON champions, as the goals came in each half of the game.

Toure gave Mali the lead in the 18th minute of the first half and held on going into the changing room.

Doumbia then made matters worse for the Super Eagles with an 84th-minute icing on the cake for 2-0.

Recall, that Finidi won his first game in charge, a friendly on Friday, against the Black Stars of Ghana.
