A United Methodist Church Reverend, identified as Oscar Mukahanana, has been compelled by humiliation as he committed suicide after his adultery scandal was leaked in the church’s WhatsApp group.

It was reported that the clergyman engaged in an extra-marital affair with a female youth in the church, and the audio of his secret meeting and conversation with the lady leaked on the church’s social media platform.

In the audio, Mukahanana, the Harare East District Superintendent in Zimbabwe, allegedly disclosed how happy he was to give the girl a good sex session before her menstrual cycle.

The church members subjected him to mockery after the leaked audio as they forwarded it to other social media groups.

According to Local media, some Church members also created memes ridiculing the District Superintendent over the adultery scandal.

Mukahanana, humiliated and embarrassed over the issue, killed himself on Friday when he could no longer withstand the shame.

Confirming the cleric’s death, UMC Harare District said in a statement, “It is with heavy heart to announce to you the untimely death of our Beloveth District Superintendent Rev Oscar Mukahanana of the Harare East District.

“The Office of the Bishop shall be informing the church of developments and funeral arrangements. As a Church, you are being cordially requested to support the Mukahanana family through your prayers.”
