Ndii wades into CSs property ownership row with reference to wealth declaration forms

NAIROBI, Kenya Jun 18 – Amid raging debate on the Cabinet Secretary involved in the Karen home property row, President William Ruto’s Economic Advisor David Ndiii has advised Kenyans to refer to the Wealth Declaration Forms they filed last year when they were hired.

Ndii was weighing in on the ongoing controversy where a Cabinet Secretary forcefully occupied a house, in Amara Ridge, belonging to an MP from Murang’a county, despite having not paid for it.

The unnamed CS is reported to have expressed interest to buy the property at Sh90 million but was told it can only go for Sh120 million but she went ahead to occupy the empty house when the owners were away.

In a post on his social media account, Ndii pointed out that financial assets owned by all 22 CSs are in the public domain and one can obtain it by simply using an online search engine, ‘google it.’

Water Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has dismissed social media reports that she is the official at the centre of the scandal involving a multi-million palatial home in Karen.

Wahome was forced to issue a statement after her name featured prominently among social media users.

Public Ethics Act of 2003 requires all public officers to file financial disclosures within 30 days of joining service.

The Act requires also all public officers and their spouses to declare their possessions at the point of entry to the service and thereafter, every two years and upon exit from the service.
