Odion Ighalo’s agent has spoken out over his client’s future, as the striker prepares for a departure from Manchester United.

Ighalo’s United stint
Odion Ighalo has been on Manchester United’s books for the best part of a year now.
The Nigerian joined the Red Devils on loan from Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua during the 2020 winter window, to provide some much-needed cover at centre-forward.
And though he didn’t exactly set the world alight over the 2nd half of the campaign, Ighalo did prove a useful asset for United.
He went on to rack up three goals in three FA Cup outings, as well as two goals and an assist in five Europa League appearances.
The new season, however, has seen the 31-year-old majorly struggle.
Ighalo to remain in Premier League?
Edinson Cavani’s arrival from PSG has seen Ighalo deemed surplus to requirements in Manchester.
In turn, with his loan deal set to expire at the end of the month, it is hard to imagine a scenario in which United extend the African’s stay.
This, though, does not necessarily mean that we have seen the last of the centre-forward in the Premier League.
When drawn on his client’s future during a recent interview, Ighalo’s representative confirmed that other sides from the English top-flight have enquired about his signature:
“I can confirm that some Premier League clubs, two teams outside of England and some clubs in the Middle East have made formal enquiries.
“Of course, he said [in an interview] that the MLS could be interesting, but that is just an option outside of the strong interest received so far.
“For now he’s still a Man United player on loan from China where he still has a contract. He could stay in England where his family is based or try something new because he has many options to mull over.”
