Buhari Administration Has Committed Highest Amount Ever To Capital Expenditure – Osinbajo Claims

BEVERLY HILLS, February 14, (THEWILL) – Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has claimed that the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has committed the highest amount ever, by any administration, to capital development and projects in the country.

Osinbajo spoke in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, at the inaugural Kogi State Economic/Investment summit saying the commitment was visible going by what the administration had spent in the last two years on capital projects.

He said this was evident in the on-going railway lines, road construction and hydro power projects insisting that the Buhari administration has prepared the ground for economic and industrial breakthroughs by solving the problems that hindered economic growth in the country.

Osinbajo also revealed that states got N1.19 trillion support from the Federal Government between 2015 and September 2017 for their programmes and do capital projects.

He said the assistance came in form of the Excess Crude Account, the Paris Club refund and budget support loans, among others admitting that part of the funds were the legal entitlements of the states, which they had access to and some were repayable loans.

Speaking on the summit, Osinbajo said it was coming at the right time when the country is trying to reduce its dependence on oil and increase its non-oil income by promoting agriculture and solid mineral resources.
