Court to Decide PDP Candidature in Edo State

The Independent National Electoral Commission Inec said it would awaits courts decision to decide the candidature of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

The Deputy Director,voter Education and Publicity,told News Agency of Nigeria that INEC will have to wait for court to decide who will be the flag bearer come Sept 10 for the governorship election in Edo State.

The Ahmed Markafi  and disputed National Chairman Ali Modu Sheriff conducted a separate primaries in Benin.

Markafi faction conducted its primary on the 20th June in Benin and elected Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the party, which were supervised by INEC and all organs of the party and Board of Trustees.

Another primary was conducted by Ali Modu Sheriff faction in June 29 which was not supervised by INEC officials,Sheriff picked Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen as the party candidate for September 10th
