Mostly this is because I am currently rebuilding my study or home office or whatever you want to call it, and the chaos level here is up to eleven at the moment. After that I’m finally going to build that insane supercomputer I’ve been planning since last year – I’ve got all the parts and everything.

Then there’s that other thing that happened…

I just don’t want to spend that much time on the internet right now. Or on this planet, for that matter. That there’s no hope for humanity should not be news to anyone, but the past few days have confirmed it. Again.

I’ve always joked that I renounced the human race a long time ago, but it’s no longer a joke. I’m ashamed to be a human. Incidentally, I watched Independence Day: Resurgence recently. It wasn’t very good, but I kept hoping the aliens would win. As always, I was disappointed.

There will be some little interest in seeing how unimaginably bad things will get over the coming years, not just in the United States and Europe, but everywhere. But there will be no joy in it. Not when you think about the great and wondrous things that a civilized and intelligent species could have accomplished in our place.

I wish our successors, whoever they will be at some point in the future, the best of luck.

At least they can’t do any worse than we did.
