Georgia To Become 25th Constitutional Carry State #NotAprilFools

This news broke yesterday, which was April 1, 2022. But no, this is not a bad April Fools’ joke. You read that right. Georgia is set to become the 25th Constitutional Carry state.

According to a Tweet from Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp, SB 319, otherwise known as the Georgia Constitutional Carry Act of 2021, was passed yesterday. He is looking forward to signing it into law as soon as possible.

Like most other states with Constitutional Carry laws, Georgia will keep its concealed carry permit system in place. Georgia residents that want to obtain a Georgia Weapons License for reciprocity reasons will still be able to do so.

We don’t know when this will be signed into law and take effect. Once it does, we will update the Concealed Carry Maps to reflect this change.
