Orange Bowl Youth Regatta is in town

The Orange Bowl Youth Regatta has been in town since December 26, today December 30 is their final day. Their home base is the Coral Reef Yacht Club.

The regatta is very good about keeping our waterways clean, they strive to make every sailor and crew member aware of Biscayne Bay and the fragile ecosystem. They forbid motorboats and it's all about sailing. They have strict rules about avoiding contact with matinees and sea turtles, too.

On December 28, Monty’s Raw Bar hosted a College Night Forum where sailors could hear University and College sailing coaches from all over the US speak about their Varsity and Club programs. The Opti Competitors Dinner took place Saturday night where sailors and coaches enjoyed a complimentary outdoor dinner and party at the Yacht Club.

It's a nice, clean activity that enhances the village. This is just the beginning of the season, for the next six months, we'll see many regattas pass through.
