"The main drive for creating my work stems from a compulsive need to explore the human condition and its intrinsic dialogue within the realm of fantasy in an attempt to formulate thought provoking critiques contextualized through the use of social anthropology and current issues. My visual practice takes shape by combining materials and mediums. I use drawings, found objects, wood, sound, printmaking, paintings and paper cutouts to create animated films. These films are sometimes used in my mixed media installations forming a coherent interplay between the static and the moving image making up the multilayered discipline of my work," says Wendell.
