Understanding the motivational forces behind the insane agenda of today’s “progressives” is not difficult. Take a few years of comic book communism as taught by pointy-headed university academics, top with daily reefer inhalations, mix with a liberal dosage of grievance culture, add a flagon of corruption, and–voila! You’ve got the very model of a modern Marxist Democrat. Such is John Yarmuth of Kentucky.
House Democrat purchased cannabis stocks while supporting legislation to decriminalize marijuana
Rep. John Yarmuth of Kentucky, who serves as chairman of the House Budget Committee, purchased stocks in Canopy Growth Corporation, Aurora Cannabis, and Tilray on Nov. 5, according to a filing with the Clerk of the House Representatives obtained by Popular Info. Prior to the stock trades, Yarmuth had signed on in September as a co-sponsor to H.R. 3884, the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, which decriminalized cannabis. The legislation passed the House on Dec. 4.
The old dictum that “everybody’s doing it” doesn’t justify the sin, even though everybody is doing it–at least among the makers of America’s laws. In the U.S. Congress, corruption is the only activity enjoyed equally by Democrats and Republicans. Take San Fran Nan, for example, the Mouth of the House:

The top 10 percent of wealthiest lawmakers have three times more wealth than the bottom 90 percent…The group of wealthiest members includes career politicians who boosted their portfolios over decades in Congress and recently elected lawmakers…House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has seen her wealth increase to nearly $115 million from $41 million in 2004…Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) saw his net worth increase from $3 million to over $34 million during that time. Is the fencing now surrounding the Capitol building designed to keep dissident Americans out? Or to keep miscreant politicians in? After all, shuttering Congress might just cut the nation’s crime rate in half.
The new barrier in front of the Capitol is proving to be more than just an eyesore. According to D.C. Council Chair Phil Mendelson, the fence, which was installed after the deadly riots in the Capitol building on January 6, is preventing D.C. lawmakers from delivering their bills to Congress. As a class, Congress critters are generally dishonest, pretentious, and eager to spend everyone’s money but their own. Coincidentally, these are traits shared by a plurality of the nation’s attorneys. Instead of lawyers, maybe we should elect pipe fitters to represent us. At least there’d be fewer leaks.
