New kind of coup d'état in good old Latin America, folks. Not the kind brought about by sinister vampires wreathed in military uniforms and sunglasses, but simply carried out by the now-banal impeachment system, at least in Latin America's biggest country.
This was a coup carried out quite directly by the Wealthy Class.
I don't think Rousseff was even accused of anything actually criminal. Just stuff that every one of her predecessors had also done ... if she even did it. And even many of her political critics acknowledge that this is a historic injustice.
Christ, what a disgrace. Dilma really bent over backwards to compromise with the System in that rotten country. How else could she possibly hope to govern? But she stopped short where her principles just wouldn't allow it.
So now Brazil has an unpopular, divisive and unelected president.
What a fucked-up place.
