Starting on Friday, 2/3/06, AT&T (formerly known as SBC) is slashing the price of their DSL service to $12.99 per month for a full year! This is for new customers signing up through the web only and it's the lowest price for DSL offered by a major DSL provider. Here are the details: AT&T Inc. is cutting its introductory price for broadband Internet over phone lines, sliding in below price leader Verizon Communications Inc. with a $12.99 monthly deal. The maximum download speed for the $12.99 deal is 1.5 megabits per second. The offer, which begins Friday for Web orders, is for a yearlong contract. When the contract runs out, the price jumps to $29.99. AT&T also cut its introductory prices on faster lines. A line of up to 3 megabits per second will cost $17.99 per month for a year, down from $21.99 per month for six months. The regular price is $34.99 per month. http://www.thenewatt.com The online offer is available in the company's traditional 13-state service area, where high speed Internet service is available. States include: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, California, Nevada and Connecticut.
