How to Take a Screen Capture from a Movie

Most video players allow you to take a screenshot of the current movie playing. Players like WinDVD and PowerDVD provide built-in Screen capture functionality.

  • To make a copy of the active window, press ALT+PRINT SCREEN.
  • To copy the entire screen as it appears on your monitor, press PRINT SCREEN.
    However, most DVD players will provide you with a black or green screen if you try to capture the screen. Look at the image below which shows the background movie playing in PowerDVD but has a black screen. It also shows the configuration menu so you can enable the screen capture function. PowerDVD is a great DVD Player with a built-in screen capture function. You can try a software called media player classic because it is very easy to capture a screenshot. Follow the simple steps below for it:
    • When you want to capture a move, simply pause it.
    • Click file on top left corner, and select "save image."
    • Choose a destination to save your file and hit save.
