In a twist of corporate drama, Spotify’s Podcast innovation chief, Bill Simmons, didn’t mince words, dubbing Harry and Meghan “fuck*ng grifters” after their lucrative podcast deal fizzled out. Despite grand plans and a hefty contract, the Sussexes delivered a mere dozen episodes before parting ways with Spotify, leaving the platform and possibly listeners feeling shortchanged. Simmons’ candid critique echoes broader questions about the value of celebrity-led content in the podcasting world.

“I wish I had been involved in the ‘Meghan and Harry leave Spotify’ negotiation. ‘The Fucking Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should have launched with them,” Simmons said on his Bill Simmons podcast. “I have got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories … Fuck them. The grifters.”

Just for clarification, according to Google, the definition of grifters is;

A grifter is an informal term for someone who swindles people out of money through fraud. Grifters are called Con artists, Swindlers, Scammers, Hucksters, Hustlers, Charlatans, Chiselers, Defrauders, and Gougers.
