Sudden terror surge in Kashmir as a man was shot dead while another couple was shot at by terrorists in two different incidents in Shopian and Anantnag yesterday. Reacting to the situation, BJP leader Kavinder Gupta says, ” …During election, an attempt is being made to terrorise people. Security forces have killed so many infiltrators from Pakistan and their supporters but when this kind of incident happens, it is very sad…the political parties who speak about Pakistan and re-implementation of Article 370…they are also somewhat responsible for this…”

Pakistan sponsored terrorists have killed former Sarpanch Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh in Heerpora, Shopian of South Kashmir. Aijaz in an interview recently had praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of Shopian in South Kashmir which was once hotbed of terror.

In another incident in South Kashmir, two tourists were injured in a terror attack at Yannar, Pahalgam, and rushed to the hospital. The two people from Jaipur were injured after terrorists opened fire at a tourist camp in UT’s Anantnag district. The couple has been identified as injured, Farha, and her husband, Tabrez, who had to be rushed to a hospital in a critical condition.

“Terrorists fired upon and injured a lady, Farha, a resident of Jaipur, and her spouse, Tabrez, at Yannar, Anantnag. The injured were evacuated to the hospital for treatment. The area was cordoned off,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The areas in Anantnag and Shopian have been cordoned off and search operations have been launched to nab the attackers, the officials said.

JKNC Chief Farooq Abdullah says, “Terrorism still exists here…no matter which party member he (BJP leader and ex-Sarpanch Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh) belonged to, targeting somebody, this needs to be investigated whether he was killed by terrorists or people here…before pointing fingers at somebody, it needs to be investigated fast…tourists were also attacked in Pahalgam…this is a tragedy, it is affecting our tourism industry…”
