In a truly shocking incident, Kanhaiya Kumar, the Congress leader who is contesting’ Lok Sabha election from North East Delhi, was assaulted by seven to eight people and had black ink thrown at him as he campaigned in the national capital.

Visuals of the assault that took place in East Delhi’s New Usmanpur area on Friday have now gone viral. Later, two of the alleged attackers have also released videos claiming their role in the attack on the Congress leader. They admitted their role and explained that they were furious for the Kanhaiya Kumar had allegedly raised slogans on breaking up the country.

Kanhaiya Kumar was leaving the party’s office in Kartar Nagar when seven to eight people garlanded Mr Kumar but then threw ink on him and also thrashed him.

Delhi Police officials have received the complaint and are verifying the videos as they launched the probe.
