Girl murdered in Ngozi Province, Two men in Kibaribari accused of menacingly threatening individuals and engaging in malicious acts of destroying Maize fields at night.


The Tribunal de Grande Instance (TGI) in Kayanza Province has sentenced two men from Kibaribari to three years in prison and imposed a fine of 150,000 Burundian francs each. The judgment, rendered on a Monday, comes as a result of their alleged verbal threats of an attack on individuals and malicious destruction of Maize Fields on a fateful Saturday night.

The case unfolded when two men in Kibaribari, a region known for its agricultural activities, were accused of menacingly Threatening Individuals and engaging in malicious acts of Destroying Maize Fields during the night. The charges were taken seriously, leading to a legal process that ultimately resulted in a substantial penalty. The Tribunal de Grande Instance, Kayanza Province, passed a sentence of three years of imprisonment, indicating the gravity of their actions. Additionally, each man was required to pay a fine of 150,000 Burundian francs.

Meanwhile, in the neighboring Ngozi Province, a tragic incident happened on Sunday when a young girl lost her life and was subsequently buried on the hill of Kagarama in the commune of Kiremba. According to the communal administrator, the young girl had been on her way to meet a man whom she alleged had impregnated her. However, this encounter took a sinister turn, resulting in her untimely death.


The exact circumstances of the young girl's demise are yet to be fully unveiled, but it has already had severe consequences. The suspected perpetrator of this heinous crime is now in the custody of the police. This tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining safety and security in our communities.
