102 Graduates Receive Certificates for Specialized Security Training as BodyGuards


102 graduates, comprising 92 males and 10 females, from the 14th session of the Bodyguard Training Program, are now poised to join the Groupement d'Appui à la Protection des Institutions (GAPI), an institution dedicated to safeguarding key establishments and institutions.


The ceremony was marked by captivating demonstrations of the techniques these graduates have acquired, which will be instrumental in their day-to-day tasks of safeguarding important institutions.

Commander of the GAPI, General Alexandre Muyenge, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the accomplished graduates, acknowledging the valuable training they have undergone. He urged them to put these acquired skills into practice to ensure the Security and protection of the institutions they will be entrusted with.

Roles of Bodyguards

  • Personal Protection: Bodyguards are responsible for the safety and security of their clients, which may include public figures, celebrities, business executives, and dignitaries. They assess potential threats and take preventive measures to ensure the well-being of their clients.
  • Risk Assessment: Before any engagement, bodyguards conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. This information guides their security strategies and helps them make informed decisions.
  • Security Planning: Bodyguards create security plans tailored to their clients' needs. This includes designing safe travel routes, securing residences and venues, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Physical Security: They provide physical protection by acting as a visible deterrent to potential threats. This often involves close proximity to the client and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.Emergency Response: Bodyguards are trained to react swiftly and effectively in the event of an emergency, such as a physical threat, medical issue, or natural disaster.

In developed countries, bodyguards typically earn competitive salaries commensurate with their level of expertise and the potential risks involved in their assignments. The salaries can vary widely based on factors like experience, location, and the client's profile. On average, annual earnings for bodyguards in developed countries can range from $40,000 to $100,000 or more.

While specific statistics on bodyguard salaries and employment numbers are not readily available due to the discreet nature of the profession, it's important to note that the private security industry, Including Executive Protection, is a growing sector.
