In Burundi, preparations for the upcoming commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the assassination of President Melchior Ndadaye are in full swing. The event is set to take place at the historic ex-Palais du 1er Novembre. These preparations involve extensive renovations, including repainting and cleaning of the location.


Burundi Senate Adopts Crucial Legal Amendment.


Hon Sinzohagera Emmanuel, the President of the Senate of Burundi's 6th legislature.


In a plenary session led by the esteemed Très Hon Sinzohagera Emmanuel, the President of  Burundi Senate, known as Inama Nkenguzamateka, has recently made a significant decision. They have adopted, in the second reading, a critical bill amending the existing law concerning the code of organization and Judicial Competence. The decision to revisit this bill, initially passed by the Parliament, aims to align the legal framework governing the organization and competence of the judiciary within the country while emphasizing the magistrate's eligibility and independence.


Unanimous Approval for Legal Amendments.

Following discussions and minor formal amendments, the organic bill that seeks to modify law nº 1/08 dated 17th March 2005, pertaining to the code of organization and judicial competence, has been adopted unanimously by the members of the Senate.
