Philadelphia Police Seek Help After Shooting in Olney

Philadelphia Police are seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a Monday afternoon shooting in the city’s Olney section. The incident occurred around 3:35 p.m. on the 6200 block of Mascher Street.

In surveillance footage, a school bus can be seen passing through the intersection just moments before the assailants opened fire. Deandre Santiago, a nearby resident, described the intense gunfire, with approximately 30 bullets found on the ground. Santiago, playing video games at the time, quickly sought cover inside his home upon hearing the shots.

According to police, two males exited a white Nissan Rogue at the corner of Godfrey and Mascher streets, immediately opening fire on a group of people on Mascher Street. Two individuals were shot, with a 24-year-old man critically injured from multiple gunshot wounds and a 23-year-old man sustaining a gunshot to his left hand.

The shooters, wearing blue gloves, black masks, hoodies, sweatpants, and sneakers, fled in a white 2014-2016 Nissan Rogue with tinted windows and black pinstripe 5-spoke silver alloy wheels.

Police have not disclosed whether the victims were the intended targets. Concerned neighbors express relief at escaping harm and urge anyone with information to contact the police at 215-686-8477.
