The Election Commission will be using various software applications in the upcoming Telangana Assembly polls. These applications include the cVigil mobile App, Planning Portal, National Grievances Services (NGS) Portal, ENCORE, Service Voter Portal, Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS), EMS 2.0, Webcasting, Observers Portal, and Polling Personnel Randomization Software (PPRS). These tools will be used to monitor and address any violations of the election code.

The Cvigil App is designed to record, report, and resolve violations during the election. It allows users to capture live photos or videos with the app, along with the location details, to provide digital evidence for swift action by flying squads. Complaints received through the app will be addressed within a 100-minute timeline. Citizens can choose to remain anonymous if they do not wish to reveal their identity.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated that the cVigil app will help fill gaps in the complaint reception and redressal system. It aims to provide a fast-track system for addressing election-related issues. The app is user-friendly and easy to operate.

In addition to the cVigil app, other software applications will be used for different purposes. The ENCORE app will process permissions requested by candidates and political parties. It includes data entry of candidate details, affidavits, and poll percentage data. The ETPBS system facilitates the electronic transfer of e-Postal Ballots to Service Electors. EMS 2.0 maintains the database of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs), enabling monitoring at various stages. Webcasting will be used to monitor events at polling stations and field units. It will be implemented in at least 50 percent of polling stations.

The Election Commission aims to use these software applications to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process in Telangana.
