Even though it’s the rainy season, the humidity is still high and the late monsoons didn’t bring as much Rain as expected. Currently, it’s sunny in both Telugu states, while there is rain in the north-eastern states. However, this will change soon as experts from the Meteorological Department predict that the rains will start again in the first week of September.

The monsoons are weak and dry winds are blowing from the north-west direction, leading to dry weather throughout South India. Hot weather is also experienced during the rainy season. Additionally, the trough in the northern side of the Bay of Bengal is reducing the chances of rain, even if it moves towards the south.

Temperatures are high in the morning and cool down in the evening. The weather will cool down further due to convective activity, resulting in light to moderate rains at a few places. Despite starting late, the monsoon didn’t bring as much rain as expected. June had some rainfall, but July was relatively dry. While Telangana experienced some rain, Andhra Pradesh continues to face a lack of rainfall. August had average mean rainfall but was mostly sunny. These conditions are due to the movement of the Monsoon Trough towards the northern states.

The break monsoon and the impact of El Nino are believed to have affected the monsoons this year. However, the weather department predicts that conditions will return to normal in the first week of September as the Monsoon Drona moves towards the South.

There is a heavy rain forecast for Orissa and Chhattisgarh due to the Monsoon trough, and moderate rains are also possible in AP and Telangana. The Director of Visakha Cyclone Warning Center mentions that even though it may be sunny in the morning, there can be sudden thunderstorms and showers in the evening.

If the monsoon trough becomes more active, there is a possibility of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, which could bring more rain. Therefore, there is a definite chance of rain in this season due to thunderstorm activity. Overall, in the first week of September, along with cooler weather, both Telugu states are likely to experience rain.
