FCRA permission sought by Ram temple trust

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is seeking foreign donations for the construction of the Ayodhya temple. They have applied for registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) from the Centre. The trust was formed in February 2020 and applied for Fcra approval in June of this year. Trust treasurer Govind Dev Giri stated that they intentionally waited until they had completed three years before applying for FCRA registration. So far, the trust has received ₹3,200 crore in donations from citizens and organizations within the country. They have three bank accounts to receive these donations: State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, and Bank of Baroda.

Giri also mentioned that the sanctum sanctorum within the temple is expected to open for devotees on Makar Sankranti in January 2024. Additionally, the Trust, along with the Heritage Handweaving Revival Charitable Trust in Pune, will be organizing the “Do Dhage Shri Ram Ke Liye” initiative from December 10 to 22. This initiative involves people weaving on handlooms to create dresses for Bhagwan Sri Ram Lalla Virajman at Ayodhya.
